Chef Zachary Willard is a native of Winston-Salem NC where he started his culinary career at a young age. Growing up his best memories were from the gardens of his grandparents and the process of cultivating to cooking or as now known as “farm to table”. Everything was from scratch growing up. His grandmother was known for her baking and extravagant wedding cakes. His grandfather for his green thumb and his love of nature. His parents exposed him to fine foods at an early age, traveling to several countries from Baja Mexico to the small villages of Russia.
As a child fell in love with Charleston and its hospitality and knew one day that he would move there. After many years working in various family owned and operated restaurants, learning his craft, he came to Charleston in 2000 to study at Johnson and Wales University. He decided to make Charleston his home and married his wife Michelle, who is a Charleston Native. They have two children and enjoy all that Charleston has to offer.
Chef Zach has been at the helm of many of the areas most popular kitchens and has been reviewed by notable critics and periodicals. His love of farm fresh produce and local seafood brought him to Johns Island where he led a popular restaurant and catering service. His passion moved from restaurants to the Event and Private chef spectrum of the hospitality industry where he thrives today, preparing fresh customized menus to the Charleston Areas most discerning palates.
